Easter Lily

The lily has long been a symbol of Easter and immortality. The lily bulb decays in the ground, yet from it new life is released. Note that the Easter Lily flowers looks like a trumpet heralding the good news that Christ is Risen. It has been the tradition of our church to offer you an opportunity to purchase a lily as memorial or honorarium for someone special. The cost of the lily will be $15. We also offer the opportunity for you to make a donation to one of our mission projects like the Sharing Center, Twin Lakes Food Pantry, or other Mission projects in lieu of an Easter lily. Either way, your gift will be listed in honor/memory of a loved one. Please let us know by March 10th . You can either call or mail the information to: Wilmot UMC, PO Box 218, Wilmot WI 53192 or 262-862-6366

Relay for Life-2024

We will have a team for Relay for Life again this year. We raise money for the American Cancer Society, which helps those diagnosed with cancer by doing research for a cure and by providing resources for cancer patients and their families. The relay event will be held at Wilmot High School on May 18th. We are looking for team members and for help with our fundraising.

We have planned three bakes on April 6th, April 20th, and May 4th at Berkort Super Market starting at 9:00 am. So, we will be looking for bakers and bake sale workers. We are open to other suggestions for fund raising.

Team captains are Laura Carnahan and Doris Carnahan. Please let one of us know soon of your interest in being on the team or in helping with the bake sales or other fundraisers.

Shalom to Home Kits

Living Waters Ministry is helping Shalom Center with their Shalom to Home kits which help the homeless transition to independent living. If you don't want to shop, we will accept monetary donations; just mark the envelope "Shalom to Home" and we will do the shopping. The kits are Bathroom, Cleaning Supplies, and Kitchen. Any questions contact Rachel Hewitt or Doris Carnahan.

Operation Christmas Child

We will start collecting in February for Operation Christmas Child. For the month of March, we will be collecting jump ropes, small cars, dolls, stuffed animals & other small toys plus bars of soap, plastic soap cases, combs, toothbrushes and toothbrush containers, and washcloths. There will be a box in the church’s entry way for your items.

Operation Christmas Child started in 1993 through Samaritan’s Purse to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. We will be collecting items during the year to put in a shoe box in November. The gifts are divided by boy or girl, and ages category: 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. We also need to include $10 donation per box to help cover the cost of shipping.

We hope you will join us in this ministry!! If you want to check out Operation Christmas Child, here is the website: www.samaritanspurse.org/ what-we-do/operation-christmas-child If you have any questions, contact Doris Carnahan.
